There are many benefits available to DFJ members on presenting their press cards. Dubious issuers of press cards claim that press card holders can gain free entry to events and can park in car parking spaces specially allocated for the press. Although that is true to a certain extent, this needs to be put into perspective.

As a DFJ member, you will be a holder of an official DFJ press card and can of course park in car parking spaces specially allocated for the press at events and trade fairs. Logically, press personnel are accredited with the event organisers. This means that they register at the event with their press cards. At trade fairs or large-scale events, there are special press desks or centres where they then receive free entry on presenting their press cards. Organisers of large-scale events tend to be very selective, however, which is why it is always better to bring with you brief written confirmation from your company that you are working on their behalf at the trade fair.
